Earlier this month Mister and I flew out to Vegas for our first ever Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. It was unreal.
Some call it Disneyland for Rockabillies. That pretty much sums it up.
Thousands of hot rod enthusiasts, rockabilly music lovers and vintage fans converge upon The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for four days of cars, music, burlesque, pinups, shopping and hanging with the coolest cats in town. There is so much to do and see that the action is non-stop from 10 in the morning to 6 am the following morning. Every day.
It is an insomniac’s playland.
I took thousands of photos. Mostly of the fashion show. ’Cause, well, you know…
These are just as I saw them… Viva through my lens, if you will. Please do not be offended if I snapped a multitude of photos of you. It is a compliment, really. I found you interesting. If you happen to spot yourself and want a copy, give me a shout.
Sadly, I spent more time behind the camera than in front of it so I do not have many outfit photos for you, but I assure you I was dressed for the occasion. We had to make a 2 am run to Wal-Mart to buy me a bigger suitcase just for the trip. Crinolines are not made for traveling, yo.
Neither are longline bras. I got a TSA pat down thanks to that. And had my head squeezed due to the rolls in my hair. Just a little vintage flying FYI for ya.

Ain’t that a kick in the head?
The Rat Pack show was not part of Viva, but you know there is no way Mister and I could leave Vegas without seeing Frank, Dean and Sammy. No way, no how. I think it was the highlight of our trip.
So those were the sights. Now I will leave you with the sounds… of The Ventures. Enjoy!
