GREEN PHONE BOOTH

The Green Phone Booth

I blog here on Tuesdays. Grab your cape and squeeze on in.

There are few things I dislike more than going to the dentist.

Having other people’s fingers in my mouth is just weird.

Beyond the violation of personal space, there is a laundry list of reasons I’d rather be somewhere else, but going to the dentist just got better.  Click on over to The Green Phone Booth to find out why.  CLICK HERE

The Green Phone Booth

I blog here on Tuesdays. Grab your cape and squeeze on in.

I just noticed the following statement on my electric bill from Xcel Energy:

Starting December 1, we will use billing envelopes made out of natural brown, 100% post-consumer waste.  It’s one of the many things we’re doing to support a clean energy future.

I wonder if they will be getting rid of the ridiculous plastic window on their envelopes as well?

Fine cut a hole in the envelope to reduce printing, I’m all for that, but couldn’t you just leave it at that?  Like I care if someone peeks at my electric bill.  If they’re that determined, they can see inside with or without that little piece of plastic.

Speaking of plastic…

I’m at the Green Phone Booth today doing just that, speaking about plastic and one way to reduce your consumption of it.  Click HERE to read “Is there a doctor in the house?”

Tuesdays at The Booth

oday I am at The Green Phone Booth talking about meat or more precisely, our lack thereof.  Obviously you’re aware of our Meatless Mondays, but our meat-free days extend well beyond the first day of the week.  Somehow we’ve gone from cutting meat out one day a week to actually eating meat one day a week. [...]

Well, let me just say I am certainly looking forward to future [...]

YOU CAN DO IT: MYO CAMERA STRAP

ver try taking a picture of yourself with your camera while wearing your camera?  It’s not easy to do.  Another thing that’s not easy to do is tote your camera all over tarnation without a strap.  We bloggers tend to do that, no?  It’s like the American Express slogan: Never leave home without it.  After [...]

GREEN YOUR: SHOWER {DRAIN MAINTENANCE}

Thumbnail image for GREEN YOUR: SHOWER {DRAIN MAINTENANCE}

Last week I had the unpleasant task of unclogging our shower drain.  I know.  Eww, right?  Drano to the rescue?  No way man!  Soap-scummy dirty standing water is gross enough without adding nasty chemicals to the mix.   In a word, YUCK!  As in Mr. Yuk. Chemical drain cleaners are among the most hazardous household [...]

A few weeks ago I put out a call for help over at The Green Phone Booth.  One of my non-profit committees was doing a fundraiser that I had hopes of greening up.  Here are the less than fortunate results:  Here’s the scoop BELT & SKIRT THRIFTED {VINTAGE VOGUE} FLAMINGO NECKLACE: LABYRINTH VINTAGE {CHICTOPIA}

99 Bottles

I’m over at the Green Phone Booth today talking about how I am cutting plastic out of my life, one piece at a time. Over the years we have taken great strides to reduce our plastic consumption.  I was quite pleased with our progress for a while. I had hit a plastic plateau if you [...]
