SHE WORE WHAT?! All for show

Happy New Year!Welcome to 2013.

I ended 2012 alive and healthy and really no worse for wear.  I wish I could say the same for my laptop.  It called it quits the week before Christmas, thus the lack of posts.

For now I have commandeered Mister’s machine so that the show can go on.  Speaking of show…

I think this is the only time I have posted an outfit just for show.  Everything you see me in, is as I wore it, in real life, going about my normal day.  At some point I just stopped to take a photo or two of it.

This outfit however, never left the house.

I put the look together to be featured as Blue Ribbon Bombshells bombshell of the week.  I thought it very fitting for New Year’s week.

It is very much something I would wear out on New Year’s Eve, had we gone out.  Instead, Mister and I chose to stay in and enjoy a steak dinner and an old black and white Bogie and Bacall film.

Why does black and white make everything more romantic?

For Christmas, Mister gifted me a Bogie and Bacall box set consisting of Key Largo, Dark Passage, The Big Sleep and To Have and Have Not.  We chose Key Largo for our date night in.

I enjoy old black and white films and watch them often.  I could probably do away with cable if it were not for Turner Classic Movies.  The only time I watch television during the day it is tuned to TCM.

I tend to get caught up in the fashions and decor.

Three cheers for the New Year! With the arrival of the new year, many of you are undoubtedly making New Year’s resolutions.

All too often, these include the ubiquitous weight loss resolutions.

I think it is good to make a conscious effort to live healthy, but I would like to also encourage you to become comfortable in your own skin and love the body you already have.

I know from watching too many old movies where everyone seems to be thin and beautiful that it can be quite easy to compare yourself and lust after false ideals.

Start by loving who you are now and working with what you have.  Discover the attributes you like about yourself and learn how to accentuate them. Focus on the positive.

There is nothing wrong with working towards a goal, but no one said you had to be miserable until you reach it.  Your goal will be much more attainable if the journey to it is a happy one.

Love the skin you are in.

Celebrate your curves.

Sparkle from head to toe.
