Cooking in a way that’s good for you and for the environment—not to mention delicious—doesn’t have to be a pain; in fact, it can be sheer bliss. In Blissful Bites: Vegan Meals That Nourish Mind, Body, and Planet
, Christy Morgan shows readers how to make healthy, delicious, animal-product free meals without a lot of effort. It’s been long-accepted that giving up animal products also means giving up easy and enjoyable cooking, but that’s just not true. Blissful Bites is a refreshing introduction to the idea that switching to a plant-based diet that uses locally grown and organic products can be easy and rewarding—for both body and mind.
Blissful Bites includes more than 150 recipes that make eating every meal healthier and exciting. Morgan, known to her online audience as “The Blissful Chef,” also delivers recipes that are easy for the typical home cook to follow, making a plant-based diet seem simpler and more delicious to implement than ever before.
Blissful Bites is filled with unique recipes and plenty of tips on how to live a healthier, more environmentally friendly life, without sacrificing an ounce of taste.
I have already earmarked about a dozen recipes in this book that I would like to try. The recipes are short and simple. Nearly all can be made in 45 minutes or less. Great for delicious weeknight dinners! I like that it is organized seasonally, ensuring flavor-packed dishes by using ingredients at their peak performance the way nature intended. There is everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner to snacks and dessert. I think it would be a great addition to the seasoned Meatless Monday participant looking to branch out as well as the perfect tool for the newbie wondering where to start.
If you would like a chance to win a new copy of Blissful Bites - thanks to the folks at BenBella Books, Inc. – link up a meatless recipe this week and leave a comment stating the dish you linked and that you would like to be entered. Only those commenting with a desire to be entered will be eligible.
You have until 11:59PM CST Friday, December 23 to enter. Open to all participants worldwide!
Of course, I encourage you to check out all the links and be kind by leaving a comment on theirs. Now add yours!
Here’s how it works.
MMMM is a weekly carnival dedicated to those interested in improving their personal health and the health of the planet by reducing meat consumption one day a week. Every Monday you have a chance to feature a link to something meatless. It doesn’t have to be a recipe {although that would be nice}, it can be a picture of a meatless meal you ate that week, an interesting article you read about meat consumption, a post on your blog about going meatless, perhaps a post on someone else’s blog you found helpful, anything Meatless Monday appropriate. Here’s how you can be a part of it.
- Link up your Meatless Monday posts here every Monday.
- Add a button to your sidebar and in posts that you do link up.
- Join the Meatless Monday Flickr group and share your photos.
- Follow @GoMeatless on Twitter
- Like Go Meatless on Facebook
- Suggest all of the above to friends/family/followers!

Blissful Bites sounds like a wonderful resource, and I’d love to win a copy! Not sure if I’m allowed to enter as I live in England, but if I am, please put my name in – don’t worry if not
I’ve linked up the Marzipan Dates recipe (link #4) – a great treat for Christmas and they make a wonderful gift as well.
Absolutely, you are eligible April! You have been one of the most diligent MMMM participants. There is no way I would exclude you. I have updated the post to welcome worldwide entrants. I’ll ship anywhere.
Thanks for always being there!
♥ RJ

What a wonderful collection of recipes! I am supposed to be making dinner, and I have my eye on that coffee-rum sauce. Wicked!
I’m sorry, in my comment above, I forgot to say I would like to be entered, and I linked up my lentil soup. Thanks!
I’ve linked up my Christmas Breakfast Casserole. It’s a cherished family recipe that used to have meat and gluten in it. I cleaned it up to make it meatless, gluten-free, and just a tad healthier and more festive looking! I’d love to enter to win Blissful Bites!
This is awesome! I have this cookbook on my wish list so I would surely like to participate in the giveaway
I linked up the pumpkin risotto.
Looking at the recipe reveals that the “Best Ever Simple Lentil Soup” is NOT meatless. Disappointing.
Why do you call this a Meatless Monday blog while allowing non-meatless recipes?
